Convict Conditioning

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Check out my Convict Conditioning review and find out if this much hyped fitness program really works. Convict Conditioning has generated a lot of buzz over the last year and with a name like that it isn’t hard to understand why. One of the main benefits of the program is that you don’t need any equipment, apart from a good chin up bar and all the exercises can be done in a few square feet.

Developed by Paul “Coach” Wade, the program focuses on six fundamental bodyweight movements which will strip away the fat and help you build huge functional strength. Each movement is broken down into ten progressive steps which will take you all the way from an absolute novice to a body weight master.

I have made great progress in just a few weeks of using this program alongside my kettlebell training. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get lean and mean in a short amount of time. But don’t just take my word for it, have a look at some of these Convict Conditioning reviews and see for yourself.

Kettlebell Buying Guide: Read This Before You Buy Kettlebells

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012

Before you buy kettlebells there are a number of things you should consider. The first of these is what size you should get. Most men will want to start with a single 16kg/36lb kettlebell. If you are already quite fit and have been doing weight training for a few months you might consider starting with a 24kg/54lb kettlebell. Women usually start with either an 8kg or 12kg ball depending on their fitness level.

If in doubt, you are better off going with the lower weight since they seem much heavier than the figures suggest when you are actually exercising with them! Going with a lighter kettlebell will also make it easier to learn the correct form for each exercise before you move up to a heavier weight.

Should I Buy Cheap Kettlebells?

Not all kettlebells are created equal, so when you buy kettlebells online don’t go straight for the cheapest offer. A good kettlebell will last you a lifetime so it makes sense to invest a bit extra in your equipment, rather than regretting your decision each time you use it.

Where To Buy Kettlebells

I have tried out a few different makes and by far the most comfortable to use is my 35lb Russian Kettlebell from Dragon Door. It is well balanced and has a special smooth coating which stops you from getting blisters on your hands. They are more expensive than some of the kettlebells I have seen on Amazon, but in my opinion they are well worth the money.

Get Kettlebells On Sale

I got a great deal on the Men’s 35lb Russian Kettlebell Starter Kit which includes both the DVD and book version of Enter the Kettlebell by Pavel Tsatsouline. If you haven’t got it already I would highly recommend picking up a copy. It’s the kettlebell bible and includes everything you need to get started on your journey.

They also have a great starter kit for women called the Ultimate Kettlebell Workout Kit. It includes an 18lb kettlebell along with a copy of the Kettlebell Goddess Workout DVD. Kettlebells do have the potential to cause injury in the wrong hands so learning how to do the different movements while maintaining the proper form is essential.

Disadvantages of Buying Kettlebells Online

Kettlebells can be expensive to ship due to their weight. Make sure you account for shipping costs in your budget before you purchase kettlebells online.

Kettlebell Training

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

Kettlebell training is the great combination of a cardio workout—including the heart and lungs with the strength training needed for building lean muscle. As you continue with your training and becomes more active it encourages the body to burn fat at a faster rate. This, in turn means calories are melting away at a faster rate as well.

With kettlebell training the great news is you do not have to concentrate on abdominal workouts in order to lose unwanted belly fat which only helps the muscular system in that area. Burning body fat and building lean muscle mass involves working the whole body out. Lean muscle mass is essential for the body’s proper metabolism as well as healthy energy levels.

Kettlebell training is particularly beneficial for those athletes who are getting older when it is harder to not only lose weight but keep it off; also it is at this time that the lean muscle mass begins to breakdown. And workout can take place in the privacy of your own home with a trainer on TV or a purchased DVD. For equipment you need a kettlebell (usually one but two can be used) in a weight that is convenient for your need.

Kettlebell training is fun; it is also quick (as little as 30 minutes) and efficient, regardless of who you are. Sites such as Art of Strength can be of great help to those who are putting their training routine together.

Kettlebell DVD

Tuesday, January 17th, 2012

The popularity of DVDs when working out has become a normal practice all across the country. The phenomenon is explained because people are becoming increasingly conscious about their health and physical well being. The popularity of the kettlebell DVD is no different offering a great combination of strength training and cardiovascular workout.

Because most people cannot afford to train with coaches and trainers such as Former US Special Forces Michael Skogg or other professionals we meet through TV advertizing—or even a gym membership in many cases, DVDs afford people the pleasure of training with ‘others’.
A kettlebell DVD offer the same convenience. Not only are you working out along with those on your TV screen but you are able to see the instructions being given.

By watching the instructor or even other athletes working out the individuals can perfect their techniques in the privacy of their own home taking all the time they need to get it right.

Kettlebell DVDs take you through a regime that is tough, versatile and when combine with other good health habits can provide the ultimate total body workout for both men and women.

There are several great DVDs that we can recommend such as Enter The Kettlebell or From Russia with Tough Love.
