Kettlebell Weights
January 3rd, 2012Many people are incorporating kettlebell weights into their existing workouts or as their main fitness weight because it has so many great benefits. The variety alone is unlimited. One KB can be used or you can bring in two. There are light routines or more intense workouts, and they can be used almost anywhere. And the best thing about the kettlebell weights are they provide the body with a total body workout.
Kettelbell weights have a gravity center quite different than dumb bells which centers weight in the hand rather than below the center of your hand increasing the difficulty and is what creates the benefit of using KBs. It allows a swing of movements that is not possible with other traditional free weights.
Kettlebell weights also bring into play a balance of tension (your strength) and relaxation (speed) which most athletes find an essential part of their workout. Ballistic kettlebell workouts (which are those that entail momentum), create a vital load to the hips and buttocks.
The sizes of the kettlebell weights range from 5—175 lbs but the standard weight is 35lbs /16kgs. KBs are used by athletes from walks such as martial arts, coaching and personal trainers, those in the military and law enforcement, and from the medical field, including doctors and chiropractors. They are coming to depend on the kettlebell weights for body conditioning, strength and weight loss.
